In January 2017, The search engine giant, Google and other like minded web browsers will begin flagging non-secure websites and online applications that accept passwords or payments with a security alert.
With the release of Chrome 53 - Google has begun a venture to start marking non secure websites as NON SECURE, so users can clearly make a decision whether to continue surfing - this will likely affect your websites bounce rates.
This is a strong push (and a polite slap on the wrist) by Google who is forging the way to safer internet usage by providing a warning to visitors when they come across a website that does not have the protection of an SSL certificate.
Those who are smart enough to purchase an SSL Certificate will be rewarded with a higher ranking boost by Google, but will also reassure visitors that your site is safe, leading to greater customer trust (great for publicity) and increased reliability for your business or brand.
